Category: Accessible Games
Hi all. So some time ago I ordered this Braille Sudoku set from Future Aids. For anyone who hasn't seen this, it's basically a board with the nine squares outlined along with holes in each square where you can put these tokens with pegs on them that have Brailled numbers on the surface. I ordered it along with the two books of puzzles they have available, as well as another, more challenging book of puzzles that I found a lot more entertaining from Blind Mice. Does anyone know of any other books that are available? Or any online places that have accessible puzzles? I've found some online but they've had time limits that have made it hard to use it with this board and aren't even very accessible and I much more prefer using the physical board with the puzzles from the books copied onto it.
BARD has one in their online braille book catalog. It was impossible to do via the book because of the way they formatted the puzzles, but I imagine they would be simple to just copy onto your board.
NLS also has a (usually monthly) puzzle magazine available that you can get through the mail; it's the only Braille magazine that you can't get through BARD actually. It's called Conundrum, and has many different kinds of games, including 3 sudoku puzzles in each issue.
I think National Braille Press has a sudoku book, too.
Thanks to all for the suggestions. I'll definitely look into these.
I want one of those games and just about all the rest out there too.
